Whole Eggs: Dietary Evil or The New Superfood?
Written by: Tom_Venuto
It's overly simplistic to say that the saturated or animal fats cause heart disease. It's even more simplistic and incorrect to say that foods high in dietary cholesterol such as egg yolks, will always lead to an increase in cholesterol in the blood. Many other factors are involved, including the type of saturated fat, individual genetics, current health status, exercise and the big picture of what else is consumed in the rest of the diet.

Written by: Sean_Nalewanyj
Everybody knows that consuming sufficient amounts of vitamins through their diet is an important way to maintain overall health and to keep the muscle building and fat burning processes functioning optimally. If you are deficient in just a single vitamin, it can potentially have negative effects on literally thousands of different processes within your body.

So, you've reached the dreaded sticking point. You're hitting your workouts consistently but there is not much happening. You might have a specific body-part that is stuck, a specific lift that is stuck, or your entire body might be stuck, but rather than search for the next magical routine, try some of the following plateau busters.

Another Reason Your Muscle Building Program Sucks
Written by: Jason_Ferruggia
One of the most popular, faulty and dangerous myths espoused in nearly every muscle building program is that you must use a full range of motion on every exercise in order to achieve maximal growth. Supposedly you have to take each movement to the fully stretched position and then finish in the fully "peak" contracted position. If you don't you will never get huge... or so they say.

Dietary Fats, Prostaglandins and Hormones - Part II
Written by: Casey_Butt
As eluded to in Part I of this article, Unsaturated fats are broken up into two main categories: Monounsaturates, also called the omega-9 (w9) fatty acids, and Polyunsaturates. Polyunsaturates are further broken up into omega-6 (w6) and omega-3 (w3) fatty acids. It is within the polyunsaturates that we find the two essential fatty acids (EFAs), which the body cannot manufacture itself but are neccesary to preserve life and health. For this reason, they must be attained in the diet and, hence, are called "essential". They are linoleic acid (LA), an w6 fatty acid, and alpha-linolenic acid (LNA), an w3 fatty acid. These two are as essential to good health as any vitamin and should NEVER be deficient in the human body but, as we'll see, they may also have positive effects on muscle growth and strengthening.

Bodybuilding Contest Dieting
Written by: Brian_Cannone
Bodybuilding is a unique sport which requires competitors to exhibit maximum muscle mass and minimum body fat at the same time. These two requirements are somewhat unnatural in that the body prefers to gain both muscle and fat together or lose them together. So attempting to maintain or increase lean mass while losing fat deposits is extremely difficult.

Calorie Partitioning - Part 1
Written by: Lyle_McDonald
Excerpted from the Ultimate Diet 2.0
At a very fundamental level, the problem that natural bodybuilders and athletes have is one of partitioning; that is, where the calories go when you eat more of them or come from when you eat less of them. In an ideal universe, every calorie you ate would go to muscle tissue, with none going into fat cells; you'd gain 100% muscle and no fat. In that same ideal universe, every calorie used during dieting would come from fat stores; you'd lose 100% fat and no muscle. Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal universe.
